Mar 16, 2020MelissaCoronavirus, FAQ's, Weddings Abroad

We understand it is a very difficult time for everyone at the moment and we are constantly monitoring the Coronavirus situation. Your wedding plans are of upmost importance to us and we are doing everything we can to make sure that our couples plans still go ahead.

We are working with customers on a departure date basis and are currently assisting customers who are due to get married in the next 8 weeks. If your wedding is outside of this period, please bear with us during this busy time.

Due to the high volume of queries at the moment, we are unable to take phone calls. If you have any questions please leave these on your profile or email hello@perfectweddingsabroad.co.uk and we will get back to you as soon as we can.

If you have any wedding planning questions, we may not be able to get back to you as quickly as we would like due to assisting couples affected by the Coronavirus pandemic and so we will back to you when we can.

We have complied a list of FAQ's:

1. How will Coronavirus affect my wedding?

We are continually monitoring the situation and are working on a departure date basis for couples travelling within 14 days. If you are outside of this period we will contact you in due course. For up to date information on the destination you are travelling to, please refer to the Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO) for the latest travel advice - https://www.gov.uk/guidance/travel-advice-novel-coronavirus

The Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) travel advice is being regularly updated. If you are travelling within the next two weeks and your wedding or holiday is affected, we will be in touch with you to provide you with your options.

2. Should I still go ahead and book my wedding?

Absolutely, we are still getting bookings for the end of 2020 and 2021 onwards. We are confirming wedding bookings in select destinations up until 2023 so you can still book ahead and get your date confirmed. We understand there is a lot of uncertainty so we are offering fantastic savings, low deposits and free amendments for new bookings.

If for any reason the FCO advise against travel to your chosen destination we will advise you and discuss your options.

3. Do you offer financial protection?

If you book with Perfect Weddings Abroad, we are ABTA members and offer ATOL protected holidays so your money is 100% financially protected. It is important now more than ever to book with a UK based ABTA/ATOL company rather than booking direct as you may not be covered should you not be able to travel and each venue/supplier has different terms & conditions which could mean you don't receive all of your money back.

4. Which countries are the UK advising not to travel to?

The FCO currently advises all but essential travel to a number of destinations and this is evolving day to day. For the latest updates please visit the FCO website

5. What are my options for postponing my wedding?

We are offering free amendments for couples to move their wedding to a new date. We understand this is a difficult time and will do our upmost to offer as much flexibility as we can dependent on the destination and venue that you are getting married at.

6. Shall I get in touch regarding my booking?

Due to the high volume of calls we are receiving at the moment, we are purely focusing on couples departing imminently within 14 days. If you are travelling outside of this period, please leave a message on your wedding profile and we will get back to you as soon as we can.

7. Countries are introducing entry restrictions and enhanced screening procedures – will this affect me?

Some countries are not permitting entry to travellers who have visited certain destinations within 14 days of their arrival. Customers should keep up to date with the latest FCO travel advice updates for the destination they are travelling to, as restrictions can change at short notice. Should any restrictions directly apply to you or members of your party then please speak to us to discuss your options.

8. If I am unable to travel, will I get a refund for my holiday?

This depends on the tour operator that you are booked with and their terms & conditions. If you are due to depart within the next 14 days and the FCO have advised against travel, please speak to us and we will look at your options for you. If you are travelling outside of 14 days, many tour operators are offering increased flexibility and free amendments to move dates.
