A real Fairytale Castle Wedding
If you are dreaming of getting married in a fairytale castle, set amidst beautiful rural scenery and steeped in history then you need look no further than the Czech Republic.
Karlstejn Castle is located just 30km from the centre of Prague making it easily accessible for wedding parties that would like to have a castle ceremony but then return to the city for their reception.
Ceremonies take place in the Castle chapel and both civil and religious ceremonies are available. We recommend that your wedding ceremony takes place at 2pm (the last wedding of the day) so that you can linger at the castle for some magical photographs.
Weddings are conducted at the Castle between April and October each year. Due to the popularity of this venue we highly recommend early booking to avoid disappointment.
A little history about this magical venue...
The castle was built in 1348 - 1368 by the King of Bohemia and Holy Roman Emperor Charles IV as a place of safe-keeping for the crown jewels. At the heart of the castle is Chapel of the Holy Cross, a beautiful, ancient chapel for your fairy-tale wedding. Its walls are covered by semi-precious stones and 127 panel paintings of the Saints. The panel paintings constitute one of the largest collections of Gothic panel paintings in the world.
